School “Choice” Week: not about choice at all

January 30, 2013

Advocates of taxpayer funding for private schools have dubbed Jan. 27-Feb. 2 “National School Choice Week.” The event is designed primarily to drum up support for vouchers, tax credits and other forms of taxpayer aid to religious and other private schools.

But the fact is that the issue is about everything except real choice.  It’s about taking money away from public schools and giving it to religious institutions so they can promote creationism,  anti-gay bias, faulty “Christian nation” history, anti-woman theology and other offensive concepts.

Have you heard your local legislator discussing the “choice” of de-funding public schools in order to benefit anti-science agendas?  Let us know by sending us an email here.
